You need to put in the hours, which in the early days could be more than you worked in your paid job. You might not be able to sit down in the evening and relax especially if there are things that need to be done on the business.
If you are wanting the flexibility that comes from working from home then you need to find the type of business that suits your personality and skills and then spend time building up your business before you get too carried away.
Before you start, if you have a family it really is worth sitting down with them to see what you plan to do and get their thoughts on it. They will be the ones who will see less of you until you make your money.
Also it will be good to write down your goals because if they dont happen as quickly as you want then you will have the reasons for working from home and the goals for the next month. Look at it month by month, and dont quit.
The first lists should include everything you love to do. The second list should include everything you hate to do. The third list should include everything you find hard to do. There are good reasons why you need all three lists. Within each list is the potential to running a business. You can use these lists for many years to come; it might be worth keeping a copy on your computer and on your desk as ideas will come to your through using these lists.
