Local Business Owner Creates Awareness During Women's Small Business Month
Baldwin, Ontario (PRWEB) October 13, 2007 -- Women are changing the face of small business. That is why during the month of October, a local business owner is stressing the importance of awareness for small businesses owned by women. They urge other businesses - no matter who owns it - to do the same.
Angela Wills who owns Star VA, Virtual Assistance Services in Baldwin believes that in this day and age, the profiles and owners of businesses are diversifying and women owned businesses need to be acknowledged and commended.
Women-owned businesses are growing fast and in the last 10 years the number of self-employed women has increased by 23% in Canada.
"These statistics are important because not so long ago women owned businesses were almost non-existent, " says Wills. "Women should not only be recognized for their business but for their motivation, determination and struggle to get where they are. When women open their business the battle is twice as hard."
"As a women business owner, it's important for us to be recognized for our achievements and helping our local communities prosper. We are now a powerful economic force and other business should be aware of this. After all, more than 90% of all purchasing decisions are made by women," Wills. "In addition, we have created new ways to manage, select vendors and use credit. These differences make use stand out."
Founded in 2006, Star VA helps small business owners to free up more time and make more money by providing virtual assistance services.
