Advertising if done right is highly effective, but most people don't know the first thing about it, and end up wasting both time and money.
So, how do I get the message out then if I am not going to advertise?
If you are a network marketer, one way is to buy leads from your Network marketing company. They usually average about $45/1000 leads. The company then loads those e-mail prospects directly into their autoresponder and a few days later people are contacting you wanting more information about your business. After that all you have to do is follow-up with a good follow-up script. Usually your upline will have one.
Another way to is to cold call or cold prospect. This requires a good cold call script and a willingness to talk to people. Most people don't do this because they are afraid of rejection. For those that do this there is great reward. Lets say you contact just 20 qualified cold call prospects per day for six (6) days. At the end of that first week you would have contacted 120 people. Talk about results! So what is a qualified cold call prospect, anyway?
A qualified cold call prospect is a prospect that you speak to either over the phone or in person, give your web-site URL to, and you get their name and e-mail address from. Just to give you an idea of how powerful this concept is, in just one year you will have contacted and e-mailed 6240 people about your home-based business : if you just contact 20 qualified cold call prospects per day, consistently.
A third way to get prospects is to go door to door in your community. This usually requires a peddlers license and flyers, plus a willingness to hear a lot of no's just to get one yes, but it works, and will put more money in your pocket than any other method!
Otherwise, the only other way to build your network marketing or home-based business is to badger your friends and business associates. If you ask most highly successful network marketing and small business people - those earning more than $5,000 / month - they will tell you that they cold called or cold prospected complete strangers in person as a way to build their business when they first started. However if you ask the successful home-based business owner what he did, he will tell you he went door to door and cold called. It just depends what business you are in.
The other thing you need to have is your own web-site. A web presence makes all the difference to your business. The more people see your business on the web the more they tell others. The right attitude is also required. The attitude of "I CAN". The attitude of giving, which includes tithing. Almost all those who became rich gave. Those who tithe, giving to their local church assembly, have an added benefit: God's blessing.
