Creative Boutique Brings Hollywood PreVis-Digital Animation Service to East Coast
Charlotte, NC (Vocus) June 21, 2007-- Broadcast design center Snap5 announced today that an agreement has been reached with Lovette Arts, who's creative contributions include the recent Academy Award winning HAPPY FEET and Emmy Award winning television animations, bringing Hollywood pre-visualization capabilities and digital animation production to the East Coast.
"Partnering with Lovette Arts is the next logical step for Snap5 to take. It's a perfect fit," noted Mark Kramer, president of Snap5. Snap5 has the broadcast design infrastructure and creative talent to support Lovette Arts unique skill set. Together, we can offer our clients the ability to completely conceptualize each shot with incredible accuracy. Right down to the type of lens on the camera" added Kramer.
"Previsualization incorporates 3-D animation into the pre-film process, which allows point-to-point accuracy in timing and shot-blocking, explained Shawn Lovette, president of Lovett Arts. "It takes the guesswork out of a shoot. Film and television directors can do their homework upfront, even up to the point of being able to conceptualize the entire production prior to shooting. Directors already know what's going to work and what's not. And that saves everyone time and money."
"There is no question that combining this technology with current services propels Snap5 to the next level as a creative design boutique." Having Shawn on board is a win/win for everyone involved," affirmed Kramer. "His professional experiences and relationships allow Snap5 to move forward in attracting award-winning filmmakers to our area."
Lovette, a native of Charlotte, spent the past several years in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sydney, Australia, where he contributed to the visual development of blockbuster films such as SUPERMAN RETURNS and HAPPY FEET. Most recently, he has been involved in George Lucas' first all digitally animated television series, STAR WARS: CLONE WARS, due for release in 2008. His first animation project, NASCAR ON FOX, won two Emmy Awards for best specialty graphics.
In addition to being president of Snap5, Kramer also is president of its parent company, MediaComm. Prior to joining MediaComm/Snap5, he was a marketing executive for Castle Rock Entertainment in Beverly Hills, coordinating the marketing on Seinfeld, City Slickers, When Harry Met Sally, and A Few Good Men. He also worked with the Tonight Show, Oprah, the Academy Awards, Entertainment Tonight, and the Emmys.
In 2006, Snap5 created a new facility to house their "creative entity." This design boutique offers creative concepts, broadcast design, audio design, and non-linear services, now offering Previsualization services. Agencies agree that Snap5 is the hottest creative place to be.
Established in 1991, MediaComm remains Charlotte's world-class, full-service television production facility in the Southeast U.S. MediaComm employs 100 broadcast professionals (in addition to numerous freelance producers, artists, engineers, designers, directors, and others). The facility houses seven studios, linear and non-linear editing suites, Master Control, audio sweetening, music composition and broadcast design. MediaComm's Master Control serves the point of origin for three networks, including one airing in the pan-European region.
MediaComm underwent vast expansion in 2001 to accommodate their current live-in client, Speed Channel, which leases two studios along with multiple linear and non-linear suites, as well as full graphics and audio design services. MediaComm also provides inbound/outbound fiber and satellite services for the network. Speed Channel programs originating from MediaComm have included "Speed Report"; coverage of Formula One races; "Two Wheel Tuesday"; "Wind Tunnel"; "NASCAR Nation"; and "NASCAR Fast Forward." Speed recently signed a two-year extension to the current contract with MediaComm and has submitted an RFP for an additional six years.
The diversity of the projects completed and clients served demonstrates the high caliber staffing and the flexibility of the facility. Specialty products completed have included commercials, music specials, variety programs, news and sports programming, magazine format shows, corporate communications, children's programming and infomercials. MediaComm also provides teleport, closed captioning, satellite media tours, satellite interviews, and master control capabilities.
A variety of clients include: Fox News Network, CNN. Bloomberg, CBS Sports, ABC Sports, Lowes, Pizza Hut, Oscar Myer, J. Walter Thompson, Centrum, Raycom Sports, World Sports, Wheeler TV, Cingular, Bank of America, Duke Energy, WSOC, JP Sports, Food Lion, Harris Teeter and NASCAR.
